Modern print technologies are fast and inexpensive and contribute to the phenomenon that every year more books are being produced - while less are being bought and read. We yet have not found any indicators that more wisdom is being generated in a given time period, but information is much easier available than in the past, though not through the books.
The access to information through the internet is phenomenal, but too many authors, especially academic ones, tend to mistake quantity before quality. On the other hand, a carefully written, edited, commented and re-edited text has a different quality than a wikipedia entry, and has the potential to facilitate knowledge in terms of understanding - rather than collecting data.
Most of our publications originate from the period before the information explosion created through the internet and still claim to represent new knowledge generated by the author(s) themselves - rather than the nowadays predominant fashion who, with a tsunami of references, basically suggest that the original information generated by the author has not been said by somebody else before in slightly different words. Our books, articles or essays presented on this website page still pretend to communicate new insights of just findings on their own.
We group this summery of publications in three separate sections:
1. conventional books either monographies or edited books - whereby we want to point out the difference between an edited publication (where the editor assumes a creative role beyond just administrative compiling the work of a selection of authors) and a mere collection of papers.
3. Papers published in a journal which typically received a rather short-lived attention, but has often been published or presented elsewhere in a different format.
4. Individual volumes of TRIALOG journal which because of personal history is closely connected to the work of GLOBUS.
